Restoration of a Napoleon III period wall shelf in blackened pearwood veneer, rosewood, amaranth, amboyna burl and marquetry on the theme of music.
Under the dust, apart from small areas of blackened pear and rosewood and a slight dehydration of the whole, there's nothing too serious.
A few veneer grafts, a vacuum-sealed glue application, a thorough cleaning, a coat of clear French polish, and voilà! All this without using sandpaper. Except, of course, for lightly sanding the polish between coats.
