Restoration. Conservation. Creation

For this new edition of the annual crafts festival, the selection committee has brought together an exceptional lineup exclusively from Normandy. In total, 32 exhibitors will bring these venues to life. Among them are 27 master craftspeople (bell sculptor, art founder, lacemaker, weaver, cabinetmaker, gilder, calligrapher, ceramicist, etc.), as well as 3 training centers ensuring the transmission of knowledge, an exceptional perfumer, and a prestigious art publishing house.
Intoxication of the senses
The Mortagne experience will engage all five senses, including the sense of smell, thanks to the remarkable presence of the Maison Parfums Berry. There, Cécile Vialla will unveil «Savoir-Faire,» a fragrance specially created in collaboration with ceramicist Elsa Dinerstein: a tribute to the workshops of art artisans and the unique, vibrant atmosphere that emanates from them.
An investigation through 12 secret locations to win an exceptional prize
For the event, the entire town of Mortagne-au-Perche will open up to visitors. As an exceptional measure, 12 historical and heritage sites, usually closed to the public, will open their doors to host workshops and demonstrations.
Visitors will not merely be spectators, but also actors in the event. An immersive trail has been designed throughout the city in the form of an investigation. Equipped with a «project notebook,» participants will have to uncover five secrets held by artisans scattered across Mortagne and solve a final riddle.
The stakes are high: those who make it to the end of this trail will be able to take part in the grand prize draw. Up for grabs is a unique piece of fine craftsmanship, created by one of the participating artisans (selected during an official competition). This piece will be presented by Crédit Agricole Normandie, a partner of the event, during the closing ceremony on Sunday, April 12.
