Restoration of a Regency period corner cabinet veneered with Rio rosewood on a softwood frame. There was little damage to this piece of furniture apart from missing fluting and mahogany grafts on the lower and upper rails.
The work involved replacing the mahogany grafts with rosewood veneer that was sawn, scraped, and sanded before being glued in place with hot glue. The brass fluting was restored and adjusted to fit perfectly into its original positions. A French polish finish was applied, and the bronze fittings were cleaned.
