A little restoration was needed for this Louis XVI jardinière, veneered in mottled mahogany with solid mahogany legs. Simply regluing the joints, which had become slightly loose, restoring the varnish yellowed with age using a French polish, and re-gilding the bronze mounts were enough to give it a new lease on life.
