Clément Fiacre
Clément Fiacre was one of the most important watchmakers of his time, received as a master on January 16, 1714, and settled in Paris and quickly gained renown. Establishing himself on Rue Saint-Denis around the mid-1740s, he created works in the Regency style, where wood was richly crafted, notably through marquetry of tortoiseshell and brass. He also produced veneers in rosewood, amaranth, and other woods, all enlivened by bronze acanthus leaves, generally asymmetrical, scrolling foliage, checkered backgrounds, and various representations of flora and fauna. Upon his death in 1758, he passed on his business to his two sons, Fiacre-François and Claude, who continued the activities of their father's workshop until the beginning of the reign of Louis XVI.
