Restoration of an 18th-century Louis XV period cartel clock, finished in Martin varnish with a red lacquer background and polychrome oil-painted decoration. François Duhamel crafted the case. The movement bears the signature of Michel Lamy, clockmaker to the Dauphin. François Duhamel, a Parisian cabinetmaker, was born in 1723 and received his master's certificate on February 3, 1750.
