Restauration d’une commode R\u00e9gence en placage de palissandre sur b\u00e2tis de conif\u00e8res. Ce n’est seulement qu’apr\u00e8s trois semaine de travail sur cette commode que j’ai remarqu\u00e9 une marque \u00e9trange. Elle \u00e9tait l\u00e0 depuis le d\u00e9but sous mes yeux et je ne l’avais pas remarqu\u00e9e. En effet il est assez rare de voir une commode r\u00e9gence estampill\u00e9e. Mais oui, la marque \u00e9tait belle et bien pr\u00e9sente. Et il ne s’agit pas d’une modeste marque puisque c’est estampille ID est attribu\u00e9e \u00e0 Jaques Denizot.<\/p>\n\n\n

Jacques Denizot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jacques Denizot (1684 – 1760), est un \u00e9b\u00e9niste parisien encore mal connu, comme le sont beaucoup des premiers \u00e9b\u00e9nistes parisiens n\u00e9s \u00e0 la fin du XVIIe et qui travaillaient avant l’usage de l’estampille, tels Lieutaud, Mallerot ou Doirat. Il produisit essentiellement des commodes R\u00e9gence et du d\u00e9but du style Louis XV. Il tenait fabrique et magasin de meubles rue de Richelieu, pr\u00e8s de la rue Traversi\u00e8re-Saint-Honor\u00e9. De 1738 \u00e0 1740, il fut jur\u00e9 de sa communaut\u00e9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il fut \u00e9galement le p\u00e8re de Pierre Denizot \u00e9b\u00e9niste du comte d’Artois, Ma\u00eetre le 1er ao\u00fbt 1740. Il dirigea un commerce rue Neuve-Saint-Roch et se classa parmi les premiers fabricants de la capitale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette commode se trouvait dans assez bon \u00e9tat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Dans le sens o\u00f9 il n’y avait que peut de manques de placage et que la structure \u00e9tait solide et non vermoulue. Mais l’ensemble des placages et des colles \u00e9taient fortement d\u00e9shydrat\u00e9s. Il y avait \u00e9videmment beaucoup de soul\u00e8vement de placages. L’int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 des cannelures en laiton \u00e9tait d\u00e9coll\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Restoration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

le travail de restauration a donc consiste \u00e0 recoller et r\u00e9hydrater l’ensemble des surfaces plaqu\u00e9es par infiltration de colle les quelques manques de placage de palissandre ont \u00e9t\u00e9 restitu\u00e9 par du place cir\u00e9e racl\u00e9, ponc\u00e9 et mis \u00e0 la bonne \u00e9paisseur en contre parement avant collage \u00e0 la colle de mammif\u00e8re. Les cannelures en laiton ont \u00e9t\u00e9 nettoy\u00e9e et recoll\u00e9e \u00e0 la colle de poisson.<\/p>\n\n\n

L’ancienne finition de vernis au tampon a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 all\u00e9g\u00e9e et r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e puis un vernis au tampon incolore a \u00e9t\u00e9 appliqu\u00e9. Les bronzes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 nettoy\u00e9 \u00e0 la vapeur d’eau.<\/p>\n\n\n
