Apr\u00e9s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 re\u00e7u \u00e0 sa ma\u00eetrise, il installa son atelier rue Traversi\u00e8re-Saint-Antoine. Tous les meubles qu\u2019il produisit \u00e9taient de belle qualit\u00e9. Ses meubles, principalement de&nbsp;style<a href=\"https:\/\/www.anticstore.com\/mobilier\/mobilier_regence\"> <\/a>R\u00e9gence&nbsp;et&nbsp;Louis<a href=\"https:\/\/www.anticstore.com\/mobilier\/mobilier_louis15\"> <\/a>XV, presque tous rev\u00eatus de placage en feuilles ou en quadrillages, \u00e9taient vari\u00e9s : armoires, bureaux plats et en pente, biblioth\u00e8ques&#8230; mais ce furent les commodes qui constitu\u00e8rent la plus grande partie de sa production. La majorit\u00e9 d\u2019entre elles adoptaient les formes ventrues et lourdes du style R\u00e9gence. D\u2019autres pr\u00e9sentaient des lignes galb\u00e9es, plus l\u00e9g\u00e8res, le montant et le tablier soulign\u00e9s par des bronzes dor\u00e9s. On peut mentionner deux oeuvres, tr\u00e8s \u00e9loign\u00e9es du style habituel de Jean-Baptiste Hedouin. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une paire d\u2019encoignures \u00e0 gradins, en laque de Chine et vernis europ\u00e9en polychrome, avec des encadrements de bronzes rocailles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ayant trouv\u00e9, sur certains meubles, son estampille \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de celle de son confr\u00e8re&nbsp;Migeon, on suppose qu\u2019Hedouin a travaill\u00e9 \u00e9galement pour des marchands. Apr\u00e8s une longue carri\u00e8re, Jean-Baptiste Hedouin mourut chez lui, rue Traversiere-Saint-Antoine, en 1783.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MUS\u00c9ES<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Encoignure marquet\u00e9e en feuilles de placage de bois de violette,elle est orn\u00e9e de bronzes cisel\u00e9s et dor\u00e9s. La traverse inf\u00e9rieure pr\u00e9sente une forme mouvement\u00e9e. Le dessus est en marbre moulur\u00e9. De forme semi-circulaire, ce meuble ouvre \u00e0 deux portes et comporte deux tablettes \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur. Il est plaqu\u00e9 de feuilles coup\u00e9es en triangles qui forment un losange autour des mascarons en bronzes dor\u00e9s s&rsquo;\u00e9panouissant au centre des portes. Mais, outre les manques de placages, la question la plus d\u00e9rangeante pour moi est, qu&rsquo;une tr\u00e8s grande partie du placage sur les pieds et la fa\u00e7ade a  d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 restaur\u00e9e, et remplac\u00e9e par du palissandre tranch\u00e9. Alors que ce meuble est plaqu\u00e9  en bois de violette. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La diff\u00e9rence me direz-vous?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Et bien, elle est que, le palissandre est un bois beaucoup plus fonc\u00e9 que le bois de violette, m\u00eame si c&rsquo;est deux bois sont de la m\u00eame famille, les <em><a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dalbergia\">Dalbergia<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Et pour couronner le tout, ce placage a \u00e9t\u00e9 coll\u00e9 \u00e0 la colle caurite. Cette colle \u00e9tait une r\u00e9volution \u00e0 sa d\u00e9couverte mais son utilisation fut catastrophique en restauration. Car tr\u00e8s souvent les \u00e9b\u00e9nistes ne nettoyait pas l&rsquo;ancienne colle et recollaient directement les placages sur celle ci. Ce qui donne le r\u00e9sultat suivant. Le placage se d\u00e9colle car il n&rsquo;a pas d&rsquo;adh\u00e9rence sur le bois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Donc la grande question est : faut il changer, garder ou conserver partiellement ce placage de palissandre?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Une restauration c&rsquo;est un questionnement, un choix puis une d\u00e9cision. Tout cela ne se fait p\bas tout seul bien s\u00fbr. Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une collaboration entre le client, moi et des coll\u00e8gues restaurateurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour ce bureau, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 choisi, dans le but de conserver une bonne \u00ab\u00a0lecture\u00a0\u00bb du meuble,  de changer le placage de palissandre et de le le remplacer par du placage de bois de violette sci\u00e9. Le placage sci\u00e9 \u00e9tant sup\u00e9rieur en qualit\u00e9 car n&rsquo;ayant pas subit les traitements thermiques du placage tranch\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
